Current Events

The Season is close at hand. The first day of practice is Monday November 10, 2025. We are currently having open mat sessions on Mondays and Tuesdays at 6:15 am. We have had amazing an turnout with many ventrans and novice wrestlers in the room at once!

We start our first official hydration test on October 15. When you test make sure that you are hydrated with electrolytes and water. You will have a 14 day window to retest and change the descent plan or qualify for a different weight.

Before the first practice make sure you have your physical and you are registered with the school.

The Focus of Wrestling
When you wrestle you must enjoy the sport and love the compeition! When you focus on the outcome (winning or losing) the enjoyment and the ferocity at which you compete diminishes due to fear.  This fear can manifest itself in many different ways.  You can have a fear of losing, a fear of exhustion, or a fear of letting others down.  Only work to control the controllables.  You cannot control your opponent.  You cannot control the referee.  You cannot control others or their opinions.  You can only control what you are willing to do.  You can only control the habits to which you want to create and follow. Outcomes take care of themselves so focus on what you can control.  Here a couple of quotes by two of the greatest ever!!
